After missing almost the whole season, Gilbert Arenas finally made his debut this season against the Detroit Pistons on March 28th. In 29 minutes of play, he had 15 points, 10 assists, and 3 rebounds. He will not play in back to back games this season. He is next expected to play against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday. It's good to see him back on the court

Here We Go Again...

Sometimes I wish I could of been born about five years earlier just so I could have been able to be brought up in a time period of GOOD music. Let's be honest, music really sucks now a days. I don't mean to talk down on any artist in particular, but there is a lot of crap being released.

So the latest trend in the music industry is to create a dance that goes along with your song. Most notable for this is probably Soulja Boy, with "Crank Dat". I'm not writing this to bad mouth him. After him, a million other "Crank Dat" songs were released from "Crank Dat Batman" to "Crank Dat Forest Gump", and of course there was a dance for all of them.

So I'm just going to fast forward by the "Stanky Leg" and all these other ridiculous dances and get to my point which is one of the newest crazes. The song is called "You're a Jerk" by the New Boyz. Personally if I seen someone in the club doing this dance, my natural instinct would be to go and clothesline them. This is one of the most ridiculous dances I ever seen. This makes the thizz face look good. Peep it for yourself.




Since I'm talking crap from behind a computer screen like all bloggers do, the least I could do is give this group a little publicity.

All Pharrell wanted was Mcdonalds to open early so he can get a quick meal in between flights. I guess Mcdonalds keeps it real in France, no matter who you are. Maybe he should of went to a Burger King so he can have it his way.

What's Really the Deal?

I'm really puzzled on this one. Is it just me, or are there really a lot of plane crashes going on right now? Maybe the media is just covering more plane crashes now. I'm not sure. It just seems like every time I turn on the television, I hear about another plane crash.

Apparently another plane crash just occurred today. It was one of those single engine airplanes. These have a history of crashing, but this is besides the fact. Why are so many planes crashing?

17 people died in the plane crash that occurred today, which included several children passengers heading for a ski trip. The plane was heading to an airport in Montana. ironically, the plane crashed in a cemetery near the airport runway.

On the other side of the world, another plane crash occurred within the same hour (It was 6 a.m in Tokyo, but 5 p.m. eastern time). The FedEx plane crashed while landing, killing the pilot and co-pilot.

Of course everyone heard of the successful landing of the plane in the Hudson River earlier this year. There have been a ton of other crashes this year.

With all this crashing going on, maybe it isn't such a bad idea to take the Greyhound until the airways feel safe again

Bluffing As Usual

As most rappers claim, but never follow through with, Rapper Kid Cudi retracted his previous statement of giving up music after his debut album. This announcement happened at the South by Southwest music festival.

"You remember when Spiderman didn't want to be Spiderman no more? Cause his personal life was so f***** up, but he was just, like, killing s*** as Spiderman...?" Cudi asked the crowd.

“I understand that I need y’all and y’all need me,” he added. “So I can’t stop.”

This is becoming a common trend in the music industry. I no longer take an artist serious when they announce their retirement

This is just a tribute to the 14th, 15th and 16th seeds of the 2009 NCAA Tournament for giving all the Goliath top seeded teams a run for their money (David and Goliath, get it?). This year, aside from the massacres in the UConn vs. Chattanooga game and the UNC vs. Radford game, the lower seeded teams played very well(Chattanooga & Radford get no love). I mean, they have just about no chance in hell of beating these top seeded teams, but they still play very hard and hung with these teams until almost the very end. Most of the times, these games are usually like a bye for the top seeds, but not this year.

The reason i don't also tribute the 12th and 13th seed of the tournament is because historically, these teams are known for making 1st round upsets. Those teams still get love. Just not in this blog entry.

The team I was most proud of out of the bottom seeded teams would have to be Cal State Northridge. Now, I've actually seen them play in person, and they lost to my school, Long Beach State, so I figured Memphis would run them out the gym. They proved me and the rest of the world completely wrong however. I remember checking my phone while at school and my jaw dropped when i seen Northridge up in the second half. The basketball players at my school were so mad that Northridge had almost upset Memphis. I guess they figured they were better than Northridge so they would of beat Memphis.

I Just want to congratulate all the teams who upset other teams and all the future upsets to come in this tournament.

I also want to pour out a little liquor for all low seeded teams who fought hard, and lost
R.I.P Stephen F. Austin, Cornell, North Dakota State, American Univ., Morgan State, CSU Northridge, Robert Morris, Binghampton, Morehead State, & East Tennessee State.

Under The Radar

It really is a shame when good artist just can't get noticed. I wasn't a follower of this New Orleans duo after i heard their first single "Cappuccino",but after i attended a Common concert, and these cats were the opening act for him, I became a fan (plus i got a free copy of the album). Krispy and Al, better known as The Knux released their debut album Remind Me in 3 Days last year and in my opinion it was a pretty solid album. I doubt they even came close to going gold, but it is a good quality album.

One Album & Out

Before his first album has even been released, Kid Cudi has stated that he is ready to leave the industry. On his blog, he wrote a post explaining himself:

"After the release of my first LP this summer, I am not making any more solo albums.I am falling back on being an artist. The drama that comes with it is more overwhelming than the s**t I was dealing wit when I was piss poor broke. My friends get mad at me, say I've changed.”

He claims that leaving the industry is not a failure to him:

"I don't look at it as quitting for I have already accomplished my goal. I have a solid fan base who truly appreciates me and my messages through song,” he said. “I got multiple big records. I have received worldwide critical acclaim from the biggest tastemakers in the game. No regrets."

He also explained how he is not interested in the mishaps of living a life of fame:

“Muthaf***as talking s**t here and there, spreading rumors, making jokes, trying to judge me, and for what? Does my music poke fun at others? Do I talk s**t about people n my music?” he said, with obvious passion. “I already went to high school once, and got expelled, because it wasn't for me. I'ma drop out this s**t before n****s try and crucify me."

Will his first album really be his last, or is he just bluffing?

R.I.P Skytops

I can't lie; Supra Skytops are the dopest skateboarding shoes to be introduced to the world, and possibly one of the tightest sneakers to not be created by Nike. I, myself am a lover of high top sneakers so me and the Skytops were an instant match. Unfortunately though, like all good things, they must come to an end.

That is right folks. The Skytops are more played out than Baby Boy on BET. Everywhere you go now, you see people sporting a pair. These are one of the newest installments in the "hypebeast" trend. It really is ridiculous how many people are rocking these right now. At one point, I simply turned my television off because in every music video it seemed like the rappers were wearing a pair of these.

If your just now getting on to these, you are suffering from what I like to call, "FW" syndrome. I can't tell you what that stands for.

To make this short and to the point: SKYTOPS ARE DEAD!

Family Guy Spinoff

Any true followers of the hit show, Family Guy, know that on the episode, "Baby Not On Board" Cleveland mentions to Quagmire that he is getting a spin off. He moves from Rhode Island to Virginia. According to Mike Henry, one of the creators,

"Cleveland has kind of had enough in Quahog—he kind of realizes that he wants his own friends, his own sidekicks, his own stories. So he sets out to California to make it in a way that we'll have to keep a secret until the show starts, and then he ends up somewhere else, which we'll also keep a secret until the show starts. But he basically goes home—he goes to his hometown of Virginia and rekindles an old high school flame."

Some stars who will be playing voices on the show are Mike Henry, Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long, Kevin Michael Richardson, and Seth MacFarlane. It is also stated that Kanye West will be guest appearing on the show as "Kenny West".

Can We PLEASE Put BET to Rest?

I used to be a long time lover of BET. What is better than coming home from school, watching two hours of Rap City: The Basement with Big Tigger followed by an hour and a half of 106 & Park hosted by AJ & Free? The answer is NOTHING was better than that. Those were BET's highlight years. Even after they got rid of AJ, Free, and Big Tigger, BET wasn't that bad. I mean, they played The Wayons Brothers and The Jamie Foxx Show in the mornings. I used to look forward to watching those when i woke up.

Now-a-days The Black Entertainment Network is just ridiculous. I can only think of three positive things on the "new" BET. And here they are:

1. They play the TV show Smart Guy now


2. You get to watch not one, but two episodes of Smart Guy back to back


3. Rocsi on 106 & Park (Enough said)

Other than that, there is no reason to even keep this channel on the air. BET has become a ghetto version of MTV 2. They don't even deserve to be compared to the regular MTV station. All BET does is take ideas from MTV and place all black people in it (i.e. MTV=The Hills, BET=Baldwin Hills; MTV=The Real World, BET=College Hill). Real creative guys!!!!

One thing i can't even understand is how is the channel going to be called Black ENTERTAINMENT Television, and they only dedicate like one hour of their whole daily schedule to play music videos. 106 & Park doesn't even count. They only play like 30 seconds of a video before they fade out of it.

On top of that, how could they get rid of BET Uncut? Not that i have ever seen it or anything like that, but i bet it displayed some very good music videos.

I was looking at their current schedule of shows, and this season Judge Hatchett is in heavy rotation. Try six episodes a day. C'mon now!

And finally, i saved this complaint for last. I hate the term BlackBuster Movie. Who came up with that???? I want to personally headbutt them. And even worse than that, is the fact they always show the same movies over and over!!!! I can only take watching Baby Boy and Soul Plane but so many times in a week.

(Monday) "The BlackBuster Movie tonight is Baby Boy. Let's watch it man."

(Tuesday) "Soul Plane is on BET right now. Turn to it."

(Wednesday) "There's nothing on TV tonight. I guess I could just watch Baby Boy again on BET."

(Thursday) "Soul Plane is on again. Did BET make a mistake on the movie their supposed to be showing tonight?"

(Fast Forward to Sunday) "Man WTF!!!! Baby Boy is on BET again!!!!" (swing a bat thru TV screen).

To summarize my plee, I'm begging, PLEASE, let's take this channel of the air. I'm so sick of BET. The only channel dedicated to the black community is embarrassing us. Either make some POSITIVE changes, or excuse yourself from television. Is that too much to ask for???

Incoming Freshman

It's about that time in the year to already start thinking about next school year. This is for high school seniors making the jump to college. If you're leaving home for school, where is it best to live, on campus or off? Here's my look on this topic.

First off, if you are a freshman, without a doubt your first option should be living in the dorms. This is the best way to get to know so many new people on campus and it helps make you feel welcomed and apart of your school. You get to know the campus better. If I could go back, I would be living in the dorms right now instead of being in the crappy situation that I'm in now.

The only way a freshman should live in an off campus apartment is if they are going to college with their friends and they know for a fact these people are reliable. Meeting random people and trying to live with them for a year off campus is one of the worst ideas ever. Take it from me, someone who has experienced this personally. You might end up with the messiest, bummiest, dirtiest, laziest people in the world. Even more importantly, you have to sign a lease for apartments which means regardless of if you have your share of the rent or not, it still depends on your other roommates and their money. In dorms, if your roommate can't afford to pay, they get kicked out, not both of you. Moral of the story: Try to get in dorms!!!

You can meet all kinds of people in the dorms, and then maybe after your first year of school, you and a couple of your new friends can decide to move off campus and get your own place.

Talk about a good game. If you missed the #20 Syracuse Orange take on #4 UConn Huskies then you lose!!! This was one of the best games I ever seen. The game was decided in SIX OVERTIMES. Where do you start with this game? Lets see....

The game started at 9:36 p.m. and ended at 1:22 a.m.

With 1.1 seconds left in the 2nd half and the score tied at 71, Syracuse threw a cross court pass, that was deflected by a UConn defender and knocked right into the hands of Eric Devendorf (22 points) of Syracuse, who hit a 3-pointer as the buzzer went off. All the Syracuse players ran on the court thinking the game was over, but after further review, Devendorf didn't release the shot before the buzzer, sending the game into overtime. This game was finally decided 6 overtime periods later, leaving Syracuse the winner in this upset, 127-117. The leading scorers were Jonny Flynn from Syracuse with 34 and 11 assists and A.J. Price from UConn with 33 and 10 assists.

A total of 8 players fouled out in this 70 minute battle.

We seen it many times before; actors who want to get into the music industry ( Eddie Murphy, Jennifer Lopez, Terrence Howard, Jamie Foxx). The newest entry to this list is the beautiful goddess, Meagan Good. Apparently she has been hitting the studio lately and is in the process of recording her debut album.

"I'm going for a more pop sound, actually. I did some stuff with some lesser-known producers," Good says.

Here's a look at just two of the shoes Kanye will be releasing for Louis Vuitton. These pairs will put a hole in your pockets though. The Jasper's (Top), are going to run you for about $1140!!! Meanwhile, if those aren't your style, the Don's (bottom) cost $870. If I may throw my opinion out there, I don't care what brand the shoe is, I wouldn't pay that much for them even if I had the money. No shoe should cost that much. Of course, shoes like this aren't for just your average guy or girl. So I'll use a Kanye West quote to end my discussion on these shoes, "I'M GOOOOOOD!"

No Curry in Tourney?

What a shame. I was really looking forward to seeing the junior guard from Davidson, Stephen Curry, showcasing in the NCAA Tournament like he did last year, where he lead 10th seed Davidson past opponents Gonzaga, Georgetown, and Wisconsin, all before coming short to Kansas by 2 points (Who ended up winning the tournament). Unfortunately, a loss to the College of Charleston (59-52) in the semi-finals of the Southern Conference Tournament will most likely keep them out of the Big Dance. Curry only had 20 points in this game (5-18 shooting, 2-11 three point range). Their 26-7 record may look strong, but 2 losses to Charleston and a loss to The Citadel don't look too good on their resume. Looks like Davidson is going to have to pack their bags and head for the NIT.

As you may know, Kanye apparently has a new girlfriend now, Amber Rose (Right). The half Italian, Half Cape Verdean model hails from Philly. In my opinion, shes the first woman i seen with less hair than me that actually looks GOOD. Despite the fact she used to be a stripper and just got out of a relationship with another woman, YES woman, I still don't think its a bad look for Kanye. In your opinion, who looks better? Kanye's ex-fiance, Alexis Phifer (Left), or his new main squeeze. Is this a downgrade or upgrade for 'Ye?

Does the Rick Ross/ 50 Cent Beef Even Matter?

I think this is one of the dumbest beefs ever. Who cares about Rick Ross and 50 Cent beefing? No matter how many diss songs, videos, or interviews Ross makes dissing 50 Cent, at the end of the day, 50 Cent can just smash him with his wallet. Rick Ross has no chance of winning at all. After his last album, Trilla (which I purchased unfortunately), I hope 50 Cent ends Officer Ricky's career. Rick Ross is hanging in there though, but there's no beating 50. Kanye sold more albums than 50, but who made more money? Yeah The Game destroyed G-Unit in their feud, but 50 is still making hits today. There is no beating 50 Cent. I'm not even a fan of him. I'm just stating the facts.

Stay Healthy Celtics!!!!

I'm a big Celtics fan and have been one for a long time (ever since Paul Pierce was drafted in '98). NO, I'M NOT A BAND WAGONER. I road with the Celtics through their gloomy years and I'm still riding with them today. The problem lately for the defending champs is that they have been plagued by injury. At first, it was just Kevin Garnett, Brian Scalabrine and Tony Allen who were out with injuries, but after this past weekend, Rajon Rondo and Glen "Big Baby" Davis have joined the list. Now, that's going to push more work onto Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. I don't know how they will do without Rondo at point guard and this is a very critical time in the season. Using last years playoffs as proof, it's obvious that having home court advantage all the way to the NBA Finals is very important, and the race is close for that spot between the Los Angeles Lakers, The Cleveland Cavaliers, and The Boston Celtics. I believe that for my C's to return to the Finals and win another championship, they're going to need that home court advantage. I'm hoping for the best. Heal those injuries!!!!

As I had said before, I'm a big fan of the Jordan 5's. This release will be a MUST buy for me. As like last year, Jordan released a retro pack every month. This year seems to be a package filled one too. The "Raging Bull Pack" will contain two pairs of Air Jordan 5's; the red ones containing a 100% suede upper, while the grey ones appear to have an all grey upper, with a black sole and laces. I'll probably end up switching the laces with these pairs. Stay posted for more information.

It surprised me too. According to the March addition of Health Magazine, they surveyed all fast food restaurants in America and McDonald's made their list. The survey was conducted by a panel of dietitians, nutritionists, and doctors. What they looked at when making this list was the uses of fat, preparation, sodium counts, organic produce, and the availability of nutritional information. Now of course this doesn't mean go out and eat 10 double cheese burgers and a large fry. Eat reasonably and stay away from super-sized options. Here's the list:
