Amazing (Feat Young Jeezy)

Off of Kanye's last album, 808s and Heartbreak.

Sometimes a Comeback Isn't Always Great

Hip hop is in a critical state right now.Name five quality albums that came out since last April... I'm still waiting... My point is proven. Artist are just not releasing good music right now and this is a major problem.

Now, everyone knows Eminem is returning and his album is going to be released soon, but to me this just isn't the same Eminem anymore. Ever since he went on that hiatus for a couple years, his music just isn't like that same classic Marshall Mathers that we loved . His style is definitely different. Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that new voice that he raps in now? His tone and voice while rapping are just different and not in a good way. I listened to Em's music and I tried not to have any biases against it. I listened to the songs he has released several times and none of them have grown on me. I feel like Eminem is trying hard to go back to his old self, but he just can't quite hit it.

I remember listening to some songs Eminem had been featured on during his hiatus, such as "Touchdown", which was T.I.'s song off of his album, T.I. Vs. T.I.P. Slim Shady was on the track rapping about candy paint. Yes, CANDY PAINT!!! When have you known Eminem to rap about candy paint on a car??? When I heard that, I knew right away Em wasn't the same.

I hate to have to say this, but Eminem's career is over. The three songs I heard off the album are horrible. He isn't the same guy and he hasn't improved. I will not be buying his next album. I have a really strong feeling it won't be worth the money, let alone the time it takes to get to the store. I'm sorry Em, but you are contributing to all the other trash being released. Of course Em will sell records. Everyone is dying for another Eminem album. I just want to warn everyone. Don't get your hopes up too high. You never know though. Maybe I'm the wrong one here

Curry To Enter Draft

I personally think he should stay and mature a little more before entering the draft, but the junior guard from Davidson begs to differ. "I think I'm mentally and physically ready to make that jump," said Curry, who by the way, also believes he will get drafted somewhere in between 7th and 20th in the up coming NBA Draft.

Stephen Curry perhaps got most of his recognition after leading Davidson to the Elite Eight, and almost to the Final Four in the 2008. This past season, the supporting roster wasn't as strong as last year, so Davidson failed to reach the NCAA Tournament.

Curry led the NCAA in the '08-'09 season with 28.6 points per game and was 5th in 3 pointers made, with 130. On the all time scorers list, he ranks 25th with 2,635 points in his three year college career.

I hope Curry will go on and have a good career in the NBA and I look forward to watching how he does. He's going to need to beef up though if he plans on playing in the big leagues.

How You Know You're Getting Old

I seen this video awhile back . The whole point of the video was for Jermaine Dupri to get back at B Cox, the guy who is sleeping, because he was messing with Jermaine while he slept. So the whole time I watched the video, I was waiting to seen how he would mess with the dude as he slept. Next thing I know the video ends and I didn't see any prank occur. The funniest part is that at the end Jermaine Dupri is satisfied with his "prank". Just watch it for yourself

LMAO!!! Just Watch

Don't even worry or pay attention to anything in this video except for the suit Chopper is wearing. LMAO!!! The web is going crazy about it. There is even a website dedicated to it. Just look at the suit. Don't sit through the whole long video. I just wanted to show everyone.

In Honor of Today (4/20)

Stole It From Kanye

This video is DOPE.

First Class Beat Down

Saturday, April 11th marked an embarrassing day in Yankee history. The Yankees would match up against the Cleveland Indians in game three of the series and it was also the third game played in the Yankee's new stadium. This will be a day to forget for many Yankee fans.

After being up 2-0 after the first inning, the Yanks would give up 14 runs in the 2nd. And the massacre didn't stop there. The Indians would go on to score 22 runs on 25 hits in this game. Everyone on the Indians' roster got at least one hit.

The Yankees new stadium seems to be some sort of a problem. The stadium appears to be a veritable wind tunnel that is rocketing balls over fences. So far this season, a total of 25 homers have been hit. There is nothing that the Yankees can do to alter the park during the season. In order to make a change, they would have to petition in the off season. At the pace they're going, about 400 home runs would be hit in this park by the end of the season. That's a 250% increase from last year. All I have to say is good luck!

Step Your Game Up!!

As a hardcore Celtics fan, and after witnessing last year's playoffs where the C's couldn't win a game on the road, seeing them lose at home to the Chicago Bulls puts fear in me. The Big Ticket better known as Kevin Garnett is out and everyone on the roster is going to have to step up to fill the missing hole. I understand those are very big shoes to fill but I believe every one stepped up to the challenge and did their part. Everyone except for Ray Allen.

I was highly disappointed with Allen's performance. He went 1-12 with only 4 points. He was 0-6 from the 3-point line.

I lost a lot of confidence in Allen. Every time he touched the ball, I would pray he wouldn't take the shot because I truly believed he would miss the it. My heart stopped when he took the last shot to try to tie the game.

I am aware that this is a best of seven game series, but Ray Allen is really going to need to step up in the next game. Now the Bulls have confidence that they can beat the defending Champions, so next game the Celtics will need to make them think twice about that. I believe in the Celtics, and I am sure they will make it out of this series alive, even if it takes the full seven games. I also still have faith in Ray Allen, and I'm sure his shot will be back on point next game...well hopefully

Dope Album

I always thought Jadakiss was a good rapper, but I never found the need tog o out and by one of his albums. For some reason I decided to check out his newest release, "The Last Kiss" and I have to say it is a pretty good album. I would go to the store and by it. It features guest appearances from Young Jeezy, Styles P, Pharrell, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon, Nas, and of course Lil Wayne. Don't judge the album off of the features though. I have to say this is one of the albums you can listen through from beginning to end. With 18 tracks, you actually get your money's worth, unlike most albums with 13 or 14 track at least (including skits). There's no BS on this album. Just pure quality

Jadakiss sold 134,520 copies of this album in its first week, debuting it at #3 on the Billboard 200.

This album is definitely worth picking up. Go buy it today

Get The Early Scoop

Here's a chance to listen to Asher Roth's new album, "Asleep in the Bread Aisle", which comes out Monday, 4/20

What do you think of the album? Dope or Nope? Is it worth buying or is it download status?

Supra Strikes Gold Again?

After being highly anticipated for about a year, the Supra TK Society is finally scheduled to be released on May 15th, 2009. The pair seen in the picture with Terry Kennedy contains a 100% red upper with a white rubber sole. Also, there will be another pair, this one containing a 100% suede purple upper with a white rubber sole.

What do you think of these kicks? Are they as dope as the Skytops or are these wack?

In Search Of...Originality

In an era where the sky is the limit, it seems like not many people are actually trying to hit that target. Before I get started on my rant, I just want to put it out there that I, myself, fall into this category that I am about to talk about. I'm speaking upon the current state of fashion, most notably, the "streetwear" trend. Everyone out there should know what I'm talking about: the New Era caps, fresh t-shirts with some catchy message about sneakers, girls, music, etc. Lets not forget the skinny jeans and of course, saving the best for last, the fresh steps on the feet; I'm talking about SNEAKERS!!! Whether it be Jordans, SB Dunks, or Vans, the sneakers are the most important factor in the streetwear scene. So what's my point?

The point I'm trying to make is that everyone and their momma is dressing like this. It has gotten pretty ridiculous. I walk through the halls at Long Beach State University, and I can't help but to notice how redundant the likelihood of me seeing someone dressing "hipster" is.

Now, don't get me wrong, I absolutely love these underground brands. From The Hundreds to Bobby Fresh to Playing For Keeps to even Capitol. How can i forget Crooks & Castles, Kr3w, Triumvir, and RockSmith. The list can go on forever (Note: LRG is not streetwear. It's mainstream now). I think the boutiques that sell these brands are the greatest things on earth. They have an artistic look to them that makes paying $35 for a t-shirt or $50 for a hat not so bad.

The problem I see is that too much of something is never good. When something gets too hyped up, it eventually ceases to exist, meaning this trend will be played out. I don't see this happening anytime soon, but I'm just speaking for the future. If you recall back not too long ago, Fubu was the ish. Everyone had a Fubu 05 Jersey in their closet. Where's Fubu now? At your local Ross and Marshalls, thats where. The comparison between Fubu and streetwear clothing isn't a good one because streetwear clothing isn't mainstream and public like that, but I'm just trying to get my point across. Even though this trend is getting too popular, I don't want it to get even more over hyped than it already is and ruined. And the way for that to happen is for a growing number of hypebeast to continue to flock onto the latest trends.

So in conclusion, I just ask everyone to not do what is hot at the moment, but to do what you feel is yourself. Don't try to be like everyone else. Be yourself. Who knows. Maybe your style will become the next big thing and you can be labeled as a trendsetter. I'm going to also try to do this so I'm not just being a hypocrite. And one more thing I ask of everyone: If you ever see an Against All Odds store built in a mall near year, please petition to get it closed down immediately!!!! They are known to spread that disease know as "hype". And as we all know, HYPE KILLS!!!!!!

I'm Speechless

These, by far, are the dopest colorway of the Nike Air Yeezy that I have seen. The upper is predominately black, with a red midsole. The outsole is glow-in-the-dark. The strap going across is patent leather. Unfortunately, there is no official word on wheather these will be released or not.
After seeing these, I would most definately pay $215 and camp out for a couple nights, but for this pair ONLY. What do y'all think?

The Future...

Here is another example of "don't judge a book by its cover". You may have seen a clip of this band at the end of your favorite show on MTV. If not, this is Chester French, a band bringing a change to the music game. The duo, a pair of Harvard graduates, have a sound like nothing I have ever heard before. They bring Hip Hop and Pop together in a good, non corny way. Like Clinton Sparks said, just picture The Beatles and Outkast combined into one and you get Chester French.

The band was in the middle of a bidding war between Jermaine Dupri, Kanye & Pharrell, but eventually chose to sign with Star Trak. And now their debut album, Love The Future is set to be released on April 21st, the same day Asher Roth's album.

If you don't believe this band is hot, you judge their new mixtape, Clinton Sparks Presents: Jacques Jams, Vol. 1: Endurance

Don't Sleep On This

Do not base your perspective of what this guy is about from his single, "I Love College". That is just a single, used to gain commercial success and establish a fan base to sell albums. Asher Roth is so much more than that. I first discovered him on his DJ Drama mixtape, The Greenhouse Effect, and I realized this white boy can actually spit. I get upset when I hear him being compared to Eminem all the time. OK, yeah they are both white and yes, his voice does sound like Eminem's, but they have totally different styles.

I just want to tell everyone right now, go out and buy this album. In a time when rap seems to be in a recession of good music, relieve yourself just for a second from the classic hip hop you find yourself going back to, and listen to this album. Its sure to be an ear pleaser.

If you are still not sure if you want to spend money on this album, hit up iTunes. At least you can preview the songs, and buy the ones you like.

The album, Asleep In The Bread Aisle hits stores on 4/21

Why Do Women Do This!?!

Seeing something like this really breaks my heart. The multi-talented model, singer, and actress Cassie has decided for some odd reason to try something new and cut all the hair off the right side of her head. I see this and I ask myself why. She looks gorgeous in the picture on the left. What in her mind would allow her to do that to herself?

When she was asked what were the reasons for the cut, her response was,"sometimes in life you need a change... Something that displays the 'I don’t give a f***' attitude that was always present, but never showcased".

In my opinion, this is a major failure in trying to do something different. What do y'all think of her new look?

REPRESENT!

I had to show some love on this one. This dude went to my high school. This is Dollabillgates in "Damn Dude". If you haven't heard of him, you should probably try to get some of his mixtapes. I'm probably one of the last people to support a rapper out of San Diego, for the pure fact that the artist that put music out are trash, but this dude is hot.

Rob Roy "Fur In My Cap"

A while ago I heard this song and then shortly after I heard the remix featuring the rap duo FKi. I don't know too much about Rob Roy, but here is the video to his song "Fur In My Cap"

It Was Only A Matter of Time

Everyone knew Jordan was going to the Hall of Fame; It was just a matter of WHEN. Along with Jordan, the class of 2009 contains David Robinson, John Stockton, Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan, and the University of Rutgers women's coach C. Vivian Stringer.

Michael Jordan had a career average of 30.12 points per game and is 3rd on the all-time scoring list with 32,292 points in his 15 season career, not to mention his 5 NBA MVP awards, 6 NBA championships, and 1 college basketball championship at UNC.

David Robinson's resume contains two NBA championships, an MVP season, a rookie of the year award, 10 All-Star selections, a scoring title and two Olympic gold medals.

John Stockton is most noted for playing his entire career with the Utah Jazz and holding the record for most assist in a season, 1,164 in the '90-'91 season, and having the highest assist average in a season with 14.5 in the '89-'90 season.

Jerry Sloan is the only coach to win more than 1,000 games with a single team, and currently is fighting for a spot in the playoffs for this season.

C. Vivian Stringer led 3 different teams (Cheyney State College, Iowa, & Rutgers) to the Final Four and has a career record of 825-280.

The induction ceremony is on September 10-12 in Springfield, Massachusetts, which is home to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Cam's New Artist

Here's a look at Cam'ron's new artist, Vado, in his video for the song, "Talk To Them".

My only question is whatever happened to Tom Gist, J.R. Writer, 40 Cal, and all the other artist who were signed to Diplomat Records.

12 x 3

If your a fan of the Air Jordan 12s and missed out on the December 2008 Countdown Package, or if you just like the Air Jordan 12s, you have three more chances to grab a pair. Along with the Nubuck 12s that are going to be released this year, the Jordan brand will be releasing more stocking stuffers later this year. The white & red 12s along with the red & black 12s are set to be released in November of this year, while the all white 12s are scheduled to be December releases. These are all just rumors, but coming from a pretty reliable source, I'm sure they are true. More info on these later.

The King Has Fallen

The economy is hitting everyone hard. Anyone saying they aren't affected by the economy is a damn liar. Over at King Magazine, they are closing down shop. That's right. King Magazine is calling it quits. After being one of the main sources for butts and rims for the past 6 years, with over 50 issues, their final issue will hit newsstands April 21st. It is really a shame. All the jobs that are going to be lost because of how bad the economy is.

Blender Magazine, along with many others have already gone out of business. It's only a matter of time before other magazines go out of business. With the rise of the Internet, the need for magazines isn't of much demand as it was at one time.

The final issue of King will feature Joe Budden's girl, Tahiry, on the cover and hits newsstands April 21st.

So who loses and who wins from this situation? The obvious losers are all the workers, writers, and staff who are out of a job. Also all the jail inmates who enjoyed this magazine (for various reasons) are out of luck now too. But is there any positive from this? From a feminist point of view, maybe this is a victory on their side. Women won't be exposed and objectified anymore from this magazine.

Either way, it's sad to see how our failed economy is bringing everything down

Why You Don't Drink & Drive

Cleveland Brown's wide receiver, Donte Stallworth, was charged today in killing a pedestrian after driving drunk in South Beach last month. If he is convicted, he could face up to 15 years in jail. For the 28 year old NFL star, that's a huge chunk of his life that could be spent behind bars, not to include the fact he will never play football in the NFL again.

Stallworth's blood-alcohol level was .126, which is way above the legal limit of .08. Honestly, the blood-alcohol level really doesn't determine anything. It just tells you how much alcohol is in a person's blood. It doesn't show how drunk a person was. A small woman with a blood-alcohol level of .126 probably will be falling all over the place, while an athlete weighing in at 200 and a height of 6 feet (like Stallworth) will most definitely not be in the same state of drunkness. He may not have been very drunk at all. Regardless of this truth, the law is the law and if the legal limit is .08, then don't exceed that.

Anyway, the report claims that Stallworth was driving 50 mph in a 40 mph zone. The report also quoted Stallworth as flashing his lights in an attempt to warn the man, Mario Reyes, before he hit him.

Much grief goes to the family of Reyes. In these situations, the family members of the victim always suffer the most.

The Ultimate Loser

This is not a diss to Memphis Bleek. I was one of the biggest fans of Roc-A-Fella Records during its glory years and even a little after it's good years. Any album released, I bought on the release date. I was heart broken when Dame and Jay split ways and the Roc soon died. Out of all the artist on the label who got screwed over by this, I feel he had it the worst. I know Peedi Crakk and Oschino and Sparks never even got an album released, but Bleek really had it bad. His whole career amounts to nothing. All of this is coming from a fan, so I'm speaking honestly.

I bought M.A.D.E and unfortunately bought 534, his 3rd and 4th album releases. But I just feel so bad for Bleek for some reason. I don't know why. This dude was like the 1st person signed to the Roc and it probably took him all four of his albums for him to hit the million albums sold mark. Recently, if you haven't heard already, Bleek finally left Roc-A-Fella. Yes that's correct. Memphis Bleek left Roc-A-Fella Records. But it wasn't really a shock to me. If you think about it, when was the last time Jay-Z featured Bleek on one of his albums? The Blueprint 2? That's 2002 folks.

So now that Bleek is not with Roc-A-Fella anymore, where does that leave his career? Do you honestly think anyone will want to hear one of his albums especially now that Jay won't have anything to do with it? In my opinion, his career is over. Or maybe it was over when he release 534. I don't know. We probably won't ever hear another track from Memphis Bleek again unless it's some mixtape joint. As a matter of fact, the last time I heard Memphis Bleek was in this Garnier Fructus Campaign commercial (fastforward to about 3:00 in the video)

So to end this tragic story, R.I.P to Memphis Bleek's music career. I would be more than happy if the Roc got back together and I would take back everything I just said. HA! Funny huh? Memphis Bleek has a better chance of seeing this blog than of the Roc getting back together. So until then, I guess I'm stuck bumping all my old Roc albums.

Long Awaited
